About the speaker:
Bulova headshot 2016Sharon Bulova is honored to serve her third term as Chairman of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors. She was first elected Chairman in a special election in 2009, and previously served as the Braddock District Supervisor from 1988-2009.

Chairman Bulova’s motto as an elected official is: “An informed and engaged community is a well-served constituency.” She works hard to engage residents in the process of governance, and believes community engagement is essential to striking the right balance between keeping taxes affordable and protecting the quality of life we value.

Chairman Bulova has been a leader with the Northern Virginia Regional Commission (NVRC), Northern Virginia Transportation Authority (NVTA), and the Washington Metropolitan Council of Governments (COG).  She is a founder of Faith Communities in Action, Communities of Trust, Diversion First, and the Ad Hoc Police Practices Review Commission. She was instrumental in helping bring Metro’s Silver Line to Tysons and Reston (with Phase II to Dulles currently under construction), and is a founder of the Virginia Railway Express (VRE).
